ING Bank is a Dutch multinational banking and financial services corporation headquartered in Amsterdam, serving over 38 million customers worldwide. ING is recognised as a leader in sustainable finance and digital banking innovation. Their Amsterdam campus, known as the Cedar building, is a flagship workplace designed to foster collaboration and innovation among more than 15,000 employees.
Deployment of a comprehensive IoT ecosystem across ING Bank's Amsterdam campus, enabling smart occupancy management, predictive climate control, and data-driven workspace optimization.
SPIE is designing and deploying an integrated IoT platform for ING Bank's Amsterdam headquarters campus, transforming it into one of Europe's most advanced smart workplaces. The project involves installing over 2,000 IoT sensors covering occupancy detection, indoor air quality monitoring, lighting levels, and thermal comfort across 85,000 square metres of office space. A centralized data analytics platform aggregates sensor data in real time, feeding machine learning models that optimize HVAC schedules, lighting scenes, and space allocation. The system also powers a digital twin of the campus, providing facility managers with an intuitive 3D interface for monitoring and control. Integration with ING's existing building management and access control systems ensures a seamless user experience for employees.
- Projected 25% reduction in energy costs through AI-driven climate and lighting optimization
- Real-time occupancy analytics enabling dynamic workspace allocation for 15,000+ employees
- Digital twin platform providing unified facility management and predictive maintenance capabilities
- Large-scale IoT sensor deployment and network architecture for commercial buildings
- Data analytics platform design with machine learning integration
- Digital twin development for facility management applications
- System integration with legacy BMS and access control infrastructure

Excellent reference. I have reviewed the KPIs and they are consistent with the project close-out report. Ready for the next review step.
The technical descriptions are thorough and accurate. I suggest adding a brief mention of the sustainability impact for the ESG section of future export templates.
Great work on the images. Could we add a project timeline diagram as well? That would strengthen the narrative for client presentations.
